Arizona Mills is your ultimate go-to shopping destination sitting on the southeastern corner of I-10 and us 60. Located in Tempe, AZ, this space serves the entire Phoenix metropolitan area. This tourist attraction was built by the renowned Mills Corporation, a property developer that owned at least 25% of the property, alongside Taubman Centers (who owned 75%). Over the next few years, Taubman sold its 75% share to Simon Property Group, a corporation that had already bought Mills Corporation in 2007.
Arizona Mills officially opened in November 1997, with approximately 200 retailers and 6,000 parking spaces. The mall is anchored by corporations such as Off Broadway Show Warehouse, Old Navy, Forever 21, American Freight, H & M, Harkins Theatres, Legoland Discovery Center, IMAX, Sea Life Aquarium, Rainforest Café, Ross Dress for Less, Tilt Studio, Camille La Vie, Marshalls, Burlington Coat Factory, and Conn’s.
Despite its name, it is important to note that Arizona Mills is not affiliated with, neither is it close to Mill Avenue (an entertainment and shopping hub found near Hayden Butte’s northern end. The name ‘Mills’, in this case, is used in reference to the property’s developer, Mills Corporation.
Just as is the case with other Mills Centers, Arizona Mills features abstract graphics at its entrances and all through the property. At the mall, there are tons of art displays from Arizona locals, aimed at promoting a sense of community, while appreciating the work and talents of local artists.
June 2008 saw a change of the mall’s website to the Simon Malls format from its original Mills Corporation format, alongside 16 other Simon Property-owned malls. This was the last of Simon-Mills mall to make the transformation, and it is one of 3 malls owned by Simon Property Group. The other two malls include Tucson Premium Outlets and Phoenix Premium Outlets in Chandler.
Arizona Mills is more than a typical shopping mall; it is a lovely space that features fine dining options and unique entertainment venues such as Sea Life Arizona, the largest IMAX theatre in the state of AZ, Harkins, LEGOLAND Discovery Center, Rainforest Café and more.
This space is the largest climate-controlled indoor spaces in the state. Here, you will find all the brands you love for a deluxe shopping experience ranging from jewelry, shoes, and women’s fashion. It is conveniently located at the intersection of I-10 and US 60, just a couple of minutes from the Sky Harbor Airport. It proudly serves Valley communities such as Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Mesa, and Glendale.
