Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. And that can only mean one thing: it’s almost Arizona’s birthday! We’ll be busy doing cover-up tattoos of wedding dates and ex’s names this week at Sentient Tattoo Collective, but we look forward to celebrating Arizona’s 108th birthday on February 14th. Many who visit Arizona are drawn to the sight and sounds of hummingbirds. Arizona has the most documented species of hummingbirds of any US state with 18 species. These tiny creatures are one of Summer‘s favorite Arizona birds to tattoo!

Potter really enjoyed working on this gecko piece – focusing on texture, subtle color shifts, and those tiny spot details to make it feel alive!

This unique spin on a snake design was created by Mousie. Did you know that Arizona is home to over 50 native snake species?

Tarantulas may look scary to some, but they love the Arizona desert. Most of these spiders are calm and fairly docile. Potter loves doing realism so this realistic tarantula tattoo was a great fit for him!

The Gambel’s quail is native to arid deserts making Arizona the perfect home for this ground-dwelling bird. Potter added some complementary shurbs around the quail.
